Important Information About Procedures for Opening a New Account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

By asking you to provide your personal information to us online and to verify that information with our experienced customer service personnel offline, you not only help keep our communities safe, but also keep your financial identity safe by ensuring that unauthorized individuals can not open accounts in your name.

Eligibility Requirements

• For personal accounts only. The account may be individual or joint.
• You must have a residential address in Massachusetts.
• You must be a U.S. citizen or resident alien with a valid social security or tax ID number.
• You must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid email address.

Three Simple Steps

To open a Bank of Canton account, you’ll need to take just a few minutes to complete the three following steps:

• Step 1: Review our account and fee disclosures.  (We will mail you printed copies upon the opening of your new account.)
• Step 2: Complete and submit a personal information form.
• Step 3: A Bank of Canton customer service representative will follow up with you via email or phone to confirm your request to open a new Bank of Canton account.  You may need to submit additional required information (including funds to open the account).
